How is my account limited when I have an active infraction?

Don't panic, you'll be ok.

We use infractions as a reminder of the rules. If you break the rules we will warn you not to do it again and give you an infraction to show you that we mean it. This does not mean that you are no longer welcome on the forum. For one thing, only you and the BHW mods can see these warnings, so no one else on the forum will ever know. But more importantly, we want you to learn from your mistake so that you can continue to use the forum in line with our terms of use.

You certainly won't be the only member with an infraction, and it doesn't mean you're any less valued here. Just because you've got an infraction, it doesn't mean we hate you. We give out lots of them every day, it's not a personal attack and it doesn't mean we think less of you. Having an infraction does mean that you can't open a Marketplace thread, but other than that, it's just a way for us to let members know the rules that allow us all to co-exist together and have constructive discussions.

Infractions expire after a set amount of time, as long as you don't break the rules again. So within a couple of months your record will be squeaky clean once more. If you have a question about your infraction, or think you have a case for it to be lifted early, you can contact support. Like we explained in this thread, be civil and remember that they are not obliged to lift your infraction.

WilhelmScream also covered this in their Three Commandments thread.
