Why Has My Thread Been Locked?

Our policy for locking threads varies for different sections of the forum.

Forums where threads are regularly locked

There are several forums on BHW where threads are regularly locked after a certain amount of time.

Introductions	Closed 7 days after the first post is made
Joint Ventures	Closes automatically 30 days after the thread is created or earlier by request
Want to Buy	Closes automatically 30 days after the thread is created or earlier by request
Hire a Freelancer	Closes automatically 30 days after the thread is created or earlier by request
Forum Suggestions & Feedback	No set period. The thread is closed once a question has been answered or discussion has ended
Dispute Resolution	May be temporarily locked by staff. Otherwise, closed 7 days after resolution

Random threads

There are random threads throughout the forum that may be closed. Whilst we currently don't have a direct policy on bumping old threads (necro bumping), if it's being done consistently or unnecessarily (post count inflation) and the threads no longer make sense today, threads such as these may be closed. Additionally, we will close threads that violate the forum rules.
